I live with Ellen on Mount Desert Island, Maine. We have children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

My practice explores ecological perception through sustained encounters with forest environments. Working primarily with photography and moving-image traditions, I approach the camera as a philosophical instrument that allows attention to settle on often-overlooked relationships. What initially began as daily walks with a camera gradually evolved into a long-term creative research practice oriented toward ecological awareness, perception, and reciprocity
